Over the years we have evolved in our endeavors thanks to our many loyal donors. Our fund has been helping children and their families diagnosed with pediatric cancer treated at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since April of 2003. Our Hope Packages constantly change at the request of the social workers and families, so if you as a patient would like something added please send us an email and we will take it under advisement.
Since 2013, we have been able to give over $14,570 in gift cards to the oncology Child Life Specialists to utilize for the patients needs. We are grateful to the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation who have been providing us with Grants to make our gift card donation possible along with helping us provide WaWa gift cards in our Hope Packages.The social workers utilize the gift cards so they are able to throw a birthday birthday, celebrate the end of a child's treatment, use as a reward for completing a procedure, or anything else they may need for the patients on the oncology floor. We are grateful to our donors who allow us the funds to provide something special to the patients.
Through the years our fund has donated to the oncology floor:
-A utility cart for the patients to use to transport their stuff to and from their cars to their room for their stay.
-Books when the new teen room was established.
-Art supplies for the patients to utilize.
-Supplies and gift cards for a teen ice cream social.
-A new play kitchen and play food for one of the play areas on the oncology floor.
-In October 2024, we were asked to purchase toys and craft supplies for the newly renovated playroom in the oncology inpatient unit. We provided over $1800 in toys and supplies for the patients!
